Exciting Fourth of July Party Ideas!

Here are some great ideas to help you plan your next fourth of July party. Choose ideas from the list to suit your budget and party needs and have a Happy Fourth!

Decorating


  • Fill a bowl with rice or floral foam and stick mini flags into it to be used a table centerpieces

  • Hang red, white and blue bunting around porch eaves

  • Tie bunches of red, white and blue balloons together to decorate the party space

  • Groups a variety of red/white/blue candles together in hurricane holders for evening entertaining

  • Roll plastic silverware settings in a fourth of July party themed napkin and tie with a piece of July 4th themed ribbon or a twist gift wrap garland

  • Using fourth of July themed papers, cover empty cans with it to hold flowers, pretzel rods, breadsticks, licorice sticks etc. You can also tie a weight onto the end of the balloon ribbons and set inside a paper covered can.

    Alcoholic Drinks


    Fire Crackers

    1 1/2 oz Tequila
    Cracked ice
    Tonic water
    Lime wedge
    Pour tequila over the ice in a highball glass. Fill with tonic. Stir and garnish with lime wedge.

    Star Spangled JELLO Shooters

    4 c Package Jello*
    2 c Boiling water
    2 c Liquor**
    *Any flavor.
    **86 or 100 proof vodka or rum - (don't use 151)

    Dissolve the Jello in the boiling water and let it cool.

    Add the liquor. Pour about 1/8 to 1/4 cup into little paper cups and chill.

    Independence Day Lemonade

    1 part Jack Daniel's bourbon
    1 part triple sec
    1 part sweet-and-sour mix
    4 parts lemon-lime soda
    Combine all ingredients and serve this refreshing drink over ice.

    Born on the Fourth of July

    1 1/2 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
    1 1/2 oz sloe gin
    cream or half & half

    Pour blue Curacao into an ice-filled Collins glass. Carefully layer both the sloe gin and cream on top of the ice. (The result should be a blue and red drink with tendrils of white shooting through the colors.)

  • Let people decorate their own glass with glass paint pens

  • Mix several drops of food coloring in several colors into a tablespoon of baby or vegetable oil and pour into a glass jar of water. The food coloring drops will "explode" into colorful streams

  • Have the kids take turn rolling the coffee can to make homemade ice cream or take turns turning the handle in a hand-crank ice cream maker.

  • Provide bubbles and assorted wands & blowers for younger kids
